Student night…or…Let’s just get Pis*ed
Study sometimes……drink always!!
Do they do a PhD in alcohol consumption??
And so another night began and the animals were still on the raw meat ….soon to be unleashed onto the streets . It looked like a quiet night to begin with but someone must have turned over a rock somewhere and the night club soon filled up but as it is ’student night’ it just means a lot of youngsters getting drunk.
Isn’t it funny how today’s students always tell you how hard it is with the student fees etc. and how much they are in debt due to going to college but they all seem to find the cash to go drinking at least twice a week.
Maybe if they cut down on the booze they could leave university with a lot less owing!!
Did my first fare and if that was anything to go by I should have gone home! I picked up four people, three girls and a bloke. The girls were OK but the bloke was one of those ‘look at me’ types….don’t you just love them? The girls all had food….mainly chips & cheese….and Mr Look-at-me decided it would be fun to try and steal some so he made a grab for the front passenger’s packet only to knock it onto her lap and spill chips etc.
As it was in her lap it wasn’t too bad and she repacked her food calling him a few choice names which he just laughed at and tried again for the packet. I told him to stop as he would make a mess of the taxi but as usual he knew best and tried for one of the other girls food. Lo and behold…..chips on the seat…chips on the floor….grated cheese mixed with both.
My exclamations of joy are not repeatable!
I stopped and told him to get out (or words to that effect…I think ‘off’ was in there somewhere )
As we were near his destination Mr Look-at-me said it was close enough anyway so he removed himself and gave me a £20 note for the £8 fare. I took the note, said “thank you” and he stood waiting.
“Yes?” I said
He replied “I’m waiting for my change…I gave you £20″
“You did indeed” I said “£8 for the fare and £12 to clean my taxi”
To this the girls laughed, told him he was a wan*er and casually said “Drive on please and keep the change”….I dropped them about 300 meters along the road. They even picked up most of the chips and apologised for the mess.
I just brushed it out and kept the £20.
Yes…before you ask….I am legally allowed to charge £50 for fouling the taxi….he got of lightly!!
Mind you…charging £50 and GETTING £50 are very different things. Getting the fare from a prat like that is hard enough by itself.
It doesn’t always work out that easy…you usually get abuse and “It’s only a taxi”
ONLY A TAXI!?……Yes, it’s only MY taxi that cost a lot of hard earned money putting up with s**t from morons.
