A phrase oft repeated on the ranks and around the offices “There’s Taxi Drivers & There’s Taxi Drivers”
Well This site has been running about four months now and many “Taxi Drivers” have visited and some have left comments and I’ve got to say that most of you have let yourselves and the Trade down. There has been some common sense and there has been a lot of nonsense. Some come here looking for answers some come here to give answers and some come here to stir things up and generally act like children. There is good information here if you bother to look. The JMP report, for instance is full of info on the combined trades of Hackney Carriages and Private Hire and more importantly shows that there are people outside of the trade with our interests at heart but how many visitors to this site have read it? There have been over 42,000 views in general of this site and approximately 20 of those views were on the JMP report. I think it’s a bit sad that you can come here and call each other silly names but can’t be bothered to read something that could be good for your profession. It’s easier to slag someone off because they drive a Berwick Plated car or a Private Hire Car or a Hack but where does that get anyone, for some of the Kiddies it’s a bit of a giggle and if that’s all you want well OK the site is open to anyone,even Numpties but for the Non Numpties don’t be put off by all the Kiddies and their crap! Keep visiting and if you think you have something to say then say it. Every time a new comment comes in the previous one gets moved down a peg and eventually dissappears. A bit like real life. Numpties come and go.
If you want to change things then this is the platform. Stop giving each other grief and shout at your Local Authority a bit,shout at them a lot if you like! Honestly anybody comes here and calls me a ’sad twat’ (which they have) they ain’t changing anything but come here often enough and ask the LA for answers or Lobby them for change has got to be more constructive than mild & not so mild expletives.(Swearing for those that came straight into Taxiing from Nursery School)
There are some that say this is a Hack site & others a Blueline recruitment site. Well it can be anything you want because the visitors are the voice of the site, The site persona ( I know some of these words are unknown to some of you but you will get the drift) What this ‘Sad Twat’ is trying to tell you is that the purpose of this is whatever you want it to be. I pay money to have this site hosted because I thought a place like this was what Taxi Drivers needed. Websites are powerful things,42,000 views in 4 months that’s a lot of power,utilise it! If you want to call people names drive past a Rank and shout out the window! or call a few no jobs into an office but if you want to force change come here! So, are you Taxi Drivers or Taxi Drivers?

I have read this Article (1) and agree you have a point!, but I like it because it is the “Jerry Springer show or the Jeremy Kyle show” of the Taxi trade, you have done well.
You raised the issue of reading the JMP opposed to fighting, but that’s like Jerry Springer saying to fighting Hetro and Gay couples go and see a marriage guidance councilor, instead of coming on global TV and fighting on stage!!!!.
The “Numpties” and the stirrers “cough, Cough” extract all the idiots just out of Nursery as you put it, this semi bad ingredient keeps this site entertaining!.
If you want a monthly subscription amount just say and I will give you my Bank details!!, no point on me coming over to the Rank as I would be strangled by big aerials, or smuthered by a Mainline door Magnet!!!!LOL!

I have read the various reports,like I do most things,including Mr Buttons novel,and on occasions I have left a reply.
I don`t like using french on these sort of media sites as it gets my argument no where and I assume my info is correct as nobody seems to have said otherwise….as yet, BUT…lets get the facts right,IF I`m a `numpty` or a `sad twat`,then can I have my full title please, I`m just on 6 feet tall,and 18 stone,so if anything I`m a `big fat sad twat,or numpty`…I have very broad shoulders too,having played rugby when i was a bit younger so I don`t take offense easily, Many Thanks…great site by the way admin…..

Admin iam sorry to hear you feel so sad about the toomanytaxis web site and the way it is going . It would be good if some of the taxi office props sent in a few bob every now and again but from what iam told mr shanks has fell out with so many office owners word is none of them want anything to do with him so i dont think any would help with the running of the blue line taxi recruitment site thats what i was told by my boss anyway . chin up and keep up the good work .

I often use the phraze “there are taxi drivers and people who drive taxis”.
I agree though with the sentiment of the article, for good reason there are different types of licence ……….. but either licence should be viewed as superior to another.
Conmpliance with the laws and a professional attitude is what needs to be adopted if the trades are to have any future.

what i have found sad is the treatment ian shanks and blt receive from the people who use this site he and his family have built up a large and very succesful taxi company over the past fifty years,so they are not a here today gone tomorrow outfit,but thats just the british way isnt it sombody strives to better themselves and be a success and the rest try to knock him down.he doesnt get fed shit off the la and just accept it,he doesnt sit and whinge and bitch on like the rest of the trade and i include myself in that last statement,he squares up th them and takes them on and this trade needs people like him,you might not like his company or his views but 10 out of 10 for having the balls to say to the town hall dictators’youre not gettin away with that’.im not trying to beef up blt or ian shanks,i dont even know the man,but reading the postings he has in my opinion some good ideas relating to the taxi trade,and personally speaking i dont think you will EVER get the hacks and private hire to co-exist,how did private hire come about?not sure myself but a guess would be hack licences capped…closed shop…enter the birth of private hie,mini cabs call it what u like.
scrap the lot start again..1 plate nationally 1 governing body…..now i really expect to get some abuse for these remarks…chris are you reading?.

Reading this feature Article and a comment made by our calm friend “Big Silver”, “this is a BLUELINE recruitment site”, I have to say where?, Just Like Newcastle’s victory over Berwick, where?? I don’t think that anyone who comes on this site has gone to Blueline!!, first of all I don’t think anyone of us on here would make the grade…set out by them of course (BLT)!
a./ our Cars may be too old
b./ We are local Lads licensed LOCALLY, not from Timbuctoo
c./ I think myself and the miseries at the Nobles Rank in North Shields, drive safely, help our customers as much as possible, don’t rip anyone off, don’t flimp!
d./ Me personally DOES NOT come on here being really nasty about my employer behind a user name week in and week out, unlike the Boys from BLT do about Mr Shanks
e./ In North Tyneside we know where we are going
f./ We could safely pick up SAM MASON from the BBC, BLT could’nt
This is far from matching the BLT criteria!!!!
For the benefit of Big Silver, Mr Shanks challenged 3-4 people who criticised his business and his drivers earning potential, he asked two independent Hackney carriage drivers to work at BLT for two weeks free, they declined, he asked me to visit so I could see the earning potential of his drivers, I did visit and have to say that you could earn a fair whack at BLT!.
So no recruitment has succeeded at all as far as I know!

One things for sure in this age of the so called credit crunch!BLT will survive it!
