This site asked the Question “Who is Alan Fidler ?” and quite rightly said most Hackney Carriage Drivers/Proprietors probably know who he is yet most Private Hire Drivers have not even heard of him.

I am not going to call Alan Fidler, who I have had many friendly discussions and friendly debates with, where it is clearly apparent we have very different views, as I am a Street Rank Hackney Carriage and Transport Qualified which means I will always quote legislation to prove my point.

Where as Alan Fidler always states the Private Hire Office Proprietors idea of what is right, very rarely, if ever quoting legislation to back up what they want to happen to give them control.

Alan Fidler is supposedly the Secretary of the “North Tyneside Taxi Organisation” NTTO not the “North Tyneside Taxi Association” NTTA (as the Press keep stating wrongly).
I have to state this as the “North Tyneside Hackney Carriage Association” hold both these Titles under the “NTHCA” as it was formerly the “NTTA” I would just like to point out at this point and the “NTHCA” is recognised by North Tyneside Council.
In earlier days Alan Fidler stated he was the Secretary of the “North Tyneside Private Hire Association” NTPHA now the NTTO (I stand to be corrected on this point about NTPHA becoming the NTTO).

Now strange as this may seem, but can anyone understand why Alan Fidler on the 11th March 2009 got himself invited to a meeting in Bury held to discuss the “Department of Transport Taxi Accessibility Consultation” for which the minutes of that meeting state “Alan Fidler
Independent Consultant” if he is the Elected Secretary of the “North Tyneside Taxi Organisation”

I have to ask, how can Alan Fidler claim to be an “Independent Consultant” when he is the Secretary of the “North Tyneside Taxi Organisation” or is he just a Chameleon, who changes his colour to match the environment he wishes to gain access to?

Beware all Private Hire Drivers, if you want to have a voice start your own Union with your own Elected Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer who should not claim to be “Independent of your Union”!!!!

Responsible Hackney Carriage Drivers and Responsible Private Hire Drivers who are Licensed by the North Tyneside Council can work together when the rules of trade are respected and on Locally Licensed Hackney Carriages Stand or Ply for hire with the Locally Licensed Private Hire Driver only picking up Per-Booked hiring in our Local Council Areas!!!!!

Alan Fidler is……….The Ginger Muppet’s Puppet!

He sold his Hack plate a while ago, although he has long harped on that this should not happen. Want his help? Beware. the Stockton Assosiation paid him for his help (probably undeclared income!) and he went through the LA’s books and unearthed……..a huge debt for the drivers to make up! Increased plate fees etc for years to come! He offered to go through our LA’s taxi income books for a discounted rate of £30 p/h. Errr, no thanks!
